Meet me in Columbia (Updated)

Sampling South Carolina Barbecue History

By Robert F. Moss

Columbia Food and Wine Festival
If you're up in the Midlands of South Carolina, come out and see me next month in August at the Columbia Food and Wine Festival.

I'll be part of the Bar-be-que&A event, which has been rescheduled to run August 20th - 23rd. My event, pending confirmation, will likely be on Saturday, August 22nd. Local pitmasters Robbie Robinson of City Limits Barbeque and Jason Rheinwald of Home Team BBQ (the Columbia outpost) will be cooking an array of South Carolina barbecue classics, and I'll be talking about the history of barbecue in the state and how we got our distinctive regional styles. There will be plenty of great craft beer from Steel Hands Brewery, where the event is taking place.
