Two New Reviews: Chasing Sage & Post House

I've been keeping pretty busy this summer, including eating all around Charleston for my latest restaurant reviews for the Post & Courier.

For my latest two, I headed downtown once again to the Cannonborough/Elliotborough neighborhood, which is quickly becoming Charleston's new epicenter for fine dining. This time I checked out Chasing Sage, a long-awaited and very interesting vegetable-centric (but not vegetarian) restaurant just steps from the Crosstown Connector.

Next, I headed back over the Ravenel Bridge to Mount Pleasant to visit the newly-renovated Post House in the Old Village. Now operated by the same team behind Basic Kitchen and Sullivan's Fish Camp, the old building, which dates to 1896, has been given a fresh, stylish overhaul, and so has the menu.

A few commonalities to both restaurants: lots of fresh local seafood, veggies, and herbs; century-old retail buildings getting a contemporary restyling; and ambitious fine dining nestled amid the houses of old neighborhoods.
